Odem junior quarterback Michael Everett was named to the MaxPreps Small Schools All-American football team on Friday.
Everett was selected as the second-team quarterback after passing for 3,847 yards, 48 touchdowns and seven interceptions in guiding the Owls to a 12-1 season and the District 15-3A, Div. II championship.
The 6-foot, 185-pound Everett also ran for 857 yards and 12 touchdowns, leading the Owls on the ground.
For his exploits he was also named to the All-South Texas football team as an athlete, and was named first-team All-State by the Associated Press Sports Editors in Class 3A.
In his three-year varsity career, Everett has thrown for 8,269 yards and 101 touchdowns.
Everett was one of four Texas players named to the All-American team.
